Vancouver Futon Mattress Store
Our second futon mattress store opened in the late 1980s on Robson Street, across from the Robson Public Market where Marie would treat her kids to fresh baked cookies. Although it seems crazy these days, we actually made our futon mattresses in the back of the store. Yes, a true factory direct mattress on the most expensive shopping street in Canada. It was obviously a different time back then, but Robson Street has always been expensive, as the West End was virtually the only high-density residential area in the city. Eventually, we moved the store to Kitsilano where we would remain for the next several decades.
