Our flagship location at 4th and Burrard was a Vancouver fixture for over 30 years. This is where we would cement our reputation as Vancouver’s preeminent natural mattress maker and where many of our current customer know us from. In the early days, Kitsilano was a laid-back bastion of unique local businesses, but like everything in life, the tides of change never stop. From yuppies to foodies, we rode those waves of change for decades, but eventually, fundamental shifts in retail combined with the infamous Vancouver real estate (and insanely high property taxes - lets tax the sky!) made it a tough go. We eventually moved around the corner to 5th and Burrard, and had no intention of leaving the neighbourhood, but the world had different ideas and the onset of COVID forced us and many local business to make very tough decisions. Luckily we had our factory to fall back on and decided to focus on that rather than leave our fate up to the whims of politicians. Fun fact: famous English musician Long John Baldry lived upstairs of our 4th location with his partner for most of those years, and occasionally, some of his famous friends would stop by for a visit.
